Best Decision

We were supposed to go to Missoula.
But we looked out at the beautiful day, then, turned to each other. "Do we really HAVE to go to Missoula?" Bruce asked.  I shook my head. "I'm sure we can make do with the groceries we have."
With a smile, I went about making huckleberry pancakes for breakfast, and the day just got better from there!
There's always a lot of work to do around this place, so after his meal, Bruce hopped on the tractor and got busy.
I think Bruce enjoys the work- even though he tends to complain a bit.
We'd accumulated numerous brush piles over the summer- It was time to get rid of them.
Wasn't long before Bruce had a rip roaring bonfire going!  And while we thought that was fun, Magick didn't care for the smell of smoke, one bit! Whew! she was pretty as she pranced around and snorted.  All three mares tended to stay in the far corner of the pasture.
Selkie helped Bruce through it all.
Selkie kinda loves her Bruce. ;)
Bruce stayed with the fire, while I took the Shelties for a walk.
Selkie and
Piper, are ALWAYS up for a walk!
We checked out the bunnies.
Yep! they were where they belonged!
We kept walking.
The colors were incredible. I couldn't take enough photos!

I've never seen a blue sky the color of the sky in Montana in the Fall. You have to see it to believe it.
We ambled over to the garden- not much in it any more. Just some carrots, onions, spinach, and parsnips.
We gave the bunnies a little treat.
Bruce decided it was time to cut the corn shocks.
Little by little, he cut them all down.  Any corn we'd missed, he threw out for the deer.
We stacked them on lengths of twine,
Tied them up,
and got three really nice, full shocks!
Bruce carried them to our front porch for me.
and I decorated! Such fun!
Staying home was DEFINITELY one of our better decisions!
Instead of a few groceries, we have an entire day of memories. AND, we got our chores done!
Enjoy your Fall, Everyone!
